Originally from curiosity about the wonderful world of bees and then professionally. The real love of bees have been given it to his sons, since at a very young age been taught to take care with love and devotion.
Today the profession of “Melissourgoi” – beekeepers and family tradition in the field of honey, is continued by Argyris and Anthony. They produce with physical-organic procedures honey, pollen, royal jelly, propolis, beeswax and all natural and necessary products of bees to humans.
The transport of bees in different locations in Greece, allows the collection of honey from different flowers and honeydew creating authentic flavors and a physical chemist who protects the human body; the bee products promote health and beauty as its therapeutic properties is extremely important and contribute to longevity.
In detail, honey is a natural sweet substance, which in the ancient Greek world had a special place. In mythology, the nymph Melissa grew up Zeus secretly giving him honey and the gods of Olympus were drinking ambrosia which contained honey. Hippocrates, the father of medicine and Dioscorides, the father of medicine, supported the nutritional and medicinal value of honey while Aristotle and Demokritos referred to the beneficial properties for health and longevity. Same diet have been seen through the centuries by the Romans and later the Byzantines.
Today, Greek honey is in first place as the best quality around the world, and this because the rich Greek beekeeping flora allows the bees to create varieties of honey-rich ingredients. The plants are those found within a radius of 3-5 km from the colonies determine the type and properties of honey. The appearance, smell and taste of the varied elements characterize the quality of each honey type. In honey can be found over 200 nutrients and it’s rich in carbohydrates, in ichnostocheia, proteins, amino acids, enzymes and vitamins B which are a source of energy, vitality, antioxidant and anti-aging action and contribute significantly to the shielding of health.
